Organization Dynamics

Organizational History

This organization started as “You Can Do It” Human Services in May 2003. At this time we were offering a summer camp and day care services. Those services continued for two years. The company took a break, and was reborn as The Redeemed Counseling and Social Services in 2009. We obtained 501(c)(3) stated and was able to implement various services within the community. We conducted in home and office therapeutic services to children and families. We also held a summer camp, adolescent girls mentoring program, and adolescent boys mentoring program within a charter school. In the community we held Back to School events, in addition to working with the elderly to provide food/meal services.  In 2013 the organization took a break, and is now back in commission as Miller - Carr Human Services.

Organizational Purpose

Miller-Carr Human Services is a nonprofit organization that provides human services for Wayne and Oakland Counties. Our primary focus is helping children and families succeed within their community. We empower individuals of all ages to become leaders and provide resources for them to develop and make a positive impact in their city.

MCHS derived from a vision to liberate the youth and less fortunate from a statistical weight that has been negatively placed upon them by society. Originally founded in May 2003, MCHS began as a grassroots home day care and therapeutic services establishment.  Collectively, a group of diverse, successful, and forward-thinking individuals with a passion for improving the perception of mankind, creativity came together in hopes of impacting the world. As time advanced, we've evolved into an incorporated nonprofit organization in Michigan.

We are committed to creating a warm environment, which will allow families to grow and flourish in an effective way.  We seek to teach and mentor individuals to establish a solid foundation that promotes growth and the positive development of children and families, while establishing the kind of networks that allow us to partner with other organizations in the community. Providing support and gaining partnerships with other organizations to address the multiple needs of the youth and their families is a key component to our success.

We welcome every race, nationality, religion, and socioeconomic background to participate in all of our services rendered. We want the world to see that someone cares about them, while we can empower individuals to defeat their hidden faults and fears.  We provide a variety of services that will restore, uplift, strengthen and empower individuals to gain their heart’s desires.
